Community Legal Education (CLE)
The Illawarra Legal Centre offers FREE legal education to community groups and to members of the general public. We can design workshops specifically to suit the needs of community groups and the general public at a venue to suit you. Please let us know of any special needs such as interpreters.
AIMS:
- To raise awareness about the law and legal processes
- To increase community understanding of how the law and the legal system impacts on our lives
- To assist people to actively participate in the law making process and to pursue law reform through collective action
SERVICE DELIVERY:
- Through workshops, lectures and presentations
- Using information kits, pamphlets and multimedia CD’s
- Broadcasting on community radio and in local media
